Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use BiteHopper, why we collect it, who sees it and how to control it. We don’t sell your personal information.
Effective November 1, 2026. Last updated October 19, 2026.
BiteHopper is operated by iProMentor LLC (“BiteHopper,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers our websites (including bitehopper.com and app.bitehopper.com), the BiteHopper app, the BiteHopper vendor app and the web dashboard (together, the “Services”). It applies to people who order food (“customers”), to vendors and their staff, and to businesses that run promotions with us.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and language preference.
- Orders: what you ordered, special instructions, the pickup time you chose, tips, promo codes and order history.
- Reviews and messages: ratings, reviews, photos and messages you send to vendors or to our support team.
- Waitlist sign-ups: your email, city and whether you want to order or sell.
- Vendor applications and accounts: business name, type of setup, cuisine, where and when you serve, contact details, links, photos, menus, hours, permits and licenses, and staff accounts.
Information collected automatically
- Location: with your permission, your device’s location, to show trucks near you and estimate distance. You can turn this off in your device settings and search by address instead. Vendors share their truck’s location while they’re open so customers can find them.
- Device and usage: device type, operating system, app version, pages and screens viewed, and features used.
- Crash and performance reports that help us fix problems.
- Notification tokens so we can send order updates to your device.
- Spam and fraud signals from bot checks on our forms and from payment risk tools.
Payment information
Card payments are processed by the vendor’s own payment provider, Stripe or Square. Your card number goes straight to that provider. We never store it. We receive limited details, such as the card brand, last four digits, payment status and amounts, to show your receipt and handle refunds.
How we use it
- To run your account, take your order and send it to the vendor.
- To authorize your card at checkout, charge it when the vendor accepts, and release the hold if they don’t.
- To calculate sales tax based on where the vendor is when you order.
- To send order updates by push notification, email or text message.
- To run loyalty stamps, promo codes and offers you choose to use.
- To answer support requests and resolve problems with orders.
- To keep the Services safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal duties such as tax and accounting records.
- To understand how the Services are used and improve them. We look at this in aggregate where we can.
- To send news and offers, if you agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
- The vendor you order from sees your first name, your order, pickup time and any instructions. Your phone number and email stay private. If a vendor needs to reach you, they message you through BiteHopper.
- Payment providers (Stripe and Square) process your payment under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers that work for us under contract: cloud hosting (Google Cloud and Cloudflare), sign-in (Firebase), email and text delivery, maps, sales tax calculation, crash reporting, customer support tools, and AI services that read the menu photos vendors upload so they can draft their menu. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Businesses that fund promotions see only totals, such as how many codes were redeemed. They don’t see who you are.
- Other users see the reviews you post, with your first name and last initial.
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of people and of BiteHopper.
- A buyer or successor if BiteHopper is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. This policy would continue to protect your information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Text messages
If you give us your phone number, we may text you about your orders, such as when your food is ready. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts and HELP for help. We send marketing texts only if you separately agree to them.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. We keep order and payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, usually seven years. Waitlist sign-ups are kept until launch in your city or until you ask us to remove them. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct or download your account information, and delete your account, from the app or by emailing hello@bitehopper.com.
- Turn off location, notifications or marketing at any time.
- Depending on where you live, including Texas, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale or profiling. We don’t do those last three. To use a right, email hello@bitehopper.com. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
We won’t treat you differently for using your privacy rights. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, multi-factor sign-in for our staff and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
BiteHopper is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@bitehopper.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
